Cheltenham's newest restaurant opens its doors today following a £1.5 million investment.
The Nook on Five, which is creating 40 jobs and offers 70 covers, is a rooftop restaurant situated at the Quadrangle - the first of its kind in Cheltenham.
Yesterday Punchline editor Mark Owen joined other members of the media for a preview lunch, prior to the restaurant's opening to the public at lunchtime today.

The Nook on Five owner & commercialisation director Ed Surman from SH Retail Investments said: "We are operating super beautiful foods with our fixed price lunch menu and winter al a carte dinner menu. We're sourcing the best of local ingredients. The menu includes venison, steak and halibut - beautiful food for the good people of Cheltenham."

As impressive as the food is the extensive wine list which features New World and Old World wines along with a dedicated English wine list which includes wines from Gloucestershire, Worcestsershire and Wiltshire.

The restaurant and bar area on the top floor will be complemented by an afternoon tea lounge, and a patisserie and café will occupy the ground floor unit.
Edward added: "From Spring 2023 after Cheltenham Race Week we'll be offering outdoor dining so you won't want to miss that when it happens and get a bit of sun and vitamin D. It will be a really interesting new thing to offer the people of Cheltenham and further afield."

After sampling the fine food on offer at The Nook on Five, Mark Owen said: "The food was absolutely delicious. I had scallops to start and then venison which was lovely. It was one of the nicest food launches I've been to for quite some time.
"The views over Cheltenham were quite stunning. You could see the town centre and across to the Malvern Hills. We were there in the daytime, but it would be absolutely fantastic at night."
