Roads closed after fatal collision near Stroud

Gloucestershire police are investigating a fatal single vehicle collision which happened on the A46 Bath Road in Barton End, near Nailsworth, this morning.

A spokesperson for the force said: "A silver Hyundai Coupe was reported to have left the road around 3.15am and emergency services attended.

"The driver, a man aged in his 20s and from Bristol, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed."

Collision investigators remain at the scene near Stroud and the roads surrounding the incident are expected to remain closed until later today.

The roads that are closed are: A46 junction with B4058, Tiltups End, A46 junction with Hay Lane and Hazelcote Lane, Calcott Crossroads and the A4135 junction with A46.

Police are asking that anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dash-cam footage is asked to call police on 101 and quote incident 45 of June 10.
