Road improvements completed in Coleford

A main route through Coleford has recently been resurfaced by Gloucestershire County Council's highways team.
Work on the B4228 between Coleford Town Centre and the junction with the A4136 (Robin Hood junction) was carried out between August 4 and September 3.
It was carried out in two phases, avoiding peak travel times, to ensure any inconvenience to local residents and businesses was kept to a minimum.
Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways, said: "I appreciate that this work was inconvenient but we needed to take action to stop the B4228 from deteriorating further. The only way we will win the battle against potholes is to carry out proper surfacing work so all road users can benefit from our £150 million investment."
Cllr Carole Allaway Martin, county councillor for Coleford, said: "I'm pleased to see this essential resurfacing work has been carried out. It means that all road users can now experience safer journeys."
Further resurfacing work is planned for Station Road and Edenwall Road, Coalway, Coleford, from October 26 to November 19.
