Restaurant listed amongst the best in national good food guide

A Cheltenham restaurant has been listed in the Top 50 of a guide to the UK's best eateries.

Le Champignon Sauvage in Cheltenham was placed 16th in the Waitrose Good Food Guide 2018.

In all 16 restaurants throughout the county appear in the guide but Le Champignon Sauvage was the only Gloucestershire business to get in the Top 50.

The restaurant in Suffolk Road, Cheltenham has been run by David Everitt-Matthias and his wife Helen since 1987. In that time they have amassed a range of accolades including two Mitchelin stars.

The Top five UK restaurants in the Waitrose Good Food Guide are:

1 Restaurant Nathan Outlaw, Cornwall

2 L'Enclume, Cumbria

3 Pollen Street Social, London

4 Restaurant Sat Bains, Nottinghamshire

5 The Fat Duck, Berkshire
