Punchline's latest magazine hits the streets

A record-breaking edition of Punchline magazine is being delivered across Gloucestershire this week.

Sixteen thousand copies of The Big Skills Training Apprenticeships and Careers issue are being delivered to businesses the length and breadth of the county by Punchline's dedicated team of deliverers.

Punchline editor Mark Owen said: "This is the biggest print run we've ever done. We've got 16,000 magazines, 13,000 going out this week, with 3,000 going to sixth form schools in the new year."

Last Friday the first copies of the magazine were delivered in parts of Gloucester city centre and on Saturday magazines were delivered to Tewkesbury High Street and a number of neighbouring business parks

Today (Monday) teams are continuing to deliver in Gloucester and Tewkesbury and tomorrow five teams will be out and about in Cheltenham, Cam, Dursley, Stonehouse, Wotton-under-Edge and the Forest of Dean.

Thursday will see teams delivering in Cirencester, the Cotswolds and Bishops Cleeve and on Friday magazines will be distributed in Stroud and Berkeley.

Mark added: "The idea is that we cover the whole county. Nobody else does what we do - going to the business parks, trading estates and high streets delivering magazines - and it's actually us who do it, we don't deliver via a third party. It's a huge job but it's why we are successful. We get the magazine out to the business people that matter."

"There are four elements in putting Punchline together: The first is to get enough advertising to pay for the magazine and we can't thank our advertisers and sponsors enough.

"The second thing is to write the magazine and fill it with fresh news and features, and also to design an interesting magazine that grabs people's attention.

"The third element is printing and binding and the fourth and most critical part is to deliver Punchline, because without the deliverers there would be no audience. We've got a great delivery team who have been with us for a long time.

"We've been out delivering in temperatures of minus 2 but it's really important we get the magazine out there. I really enjoy delivering it and getting to meet people."

If you want a copy of Punchline magazine and can't wait for delivery, you can pick one up from the magazine stand at Sainsbury's in Gloucester Quays or at Gloucester Quays reception. Fifty magazines will also be given out to each of the six growth hubs in Gloucestershire..

Punchline is particular grateful to the four main magazine sponsors - Ontic,  South Gloucestershire and Stroud CollegeGloucestershire County Council  and Creed Foodservice
