Public consultation for mixed-use development at Golden Valley

A public consultation event is being held on Tuesday 7 November, between 4 pm and 8 pm, at the Hesters Way Community Resource Centre, Cassin Drive, Cheltenham, organised by SF Planning.

The consultation is to outline proposals for an employment-led, mixed-use development which will provide approximately 55,000 sq ft of commercial floor space and around 350 new homes, forming part of the Golden Valley Development in Cheltenham.

The site is west of GCHQ and off Fiddlers Green Lane.

Owned by NEMA Strategic Land, it is allocated for development in the Joint Core Strategy and would form a central part of Cheltenham Borough Council's master plan to create an exciting employment-led development between Junctions 10 and 11 of the M5.

It is adjacent to proposals being worked up by the Council, the overall aim of which is to deliver a pioneering new community that combines world-class cyber facilities, along with housing and other services.

Martin Chandler, spokesperson for SF Planning, said: "We hope that local residents and business people will come and see the proposals and give us their feedback which will assist us in developing our outline planning application to be submitted in the New Year.

"The wider Golden Valley allocation is a very exciting project and we're proud to be playing a part in helping to bring that vision to reality."

More information on the £1bn Golden Valley Development planning submission can be read here. This is a major infrastructure project at the centre of the UK's National Cyber Strategy.
