At long last, Primark has confirmed an opening date for its brand new Gloucester store.

Hoardings outside the former BHS on Eastgate Street confirm that it will open to customers just in time for Christmas - on December 8.

It has been a long wait for Primark shoppers in the city, after the retailer first announced it would move into the old BHS store back in July last year.

The new Primark be a larger store than the existing branch and is expected to stock a bigger range of clothing and homewares.

The new store will create a number of full and part-time jobs.
