Post office and stores opens in Cotswold village

The Rendcomb Post Office and Stores has officially opened its doors to the public.

Located in the heart of the village, the shop is being run by Rendcomb College.

A grand opening ceremony took place on October 6th, attended by head of college Rob Jones and his wife Pippa Jones, the bursar Rowan Elliott-Jones, and other members of staff and people from the surrounding Rendcomb village.

Mr Henry Robinson, Deputy Lieutenant, High Sheriff of Gloucestershire, was the official ribbon cutter for the ceremony and gave a speech in which he praised all the staff who have worked so hard to get the shop open and running.

Mr Robinson said: "It is marvellous to see the Post Office and Stores being opened to become another community centre and hub for the village, and the whole Rendcomb community."

After the ribbon cutting ceremony, guests were treated to coffee - made by shop manager Kirsty Lane and her team, using local RAVE coffee beans - and prosecco, as well as fresh pastries.

They also had the chance to explore the shop and see all of its offerings and stock, including locally sourced products such as fresh sourdough bread, a selection of cards, and different chutneys.

The Rendcomb Post Office and Stores is a great hub for community get togethers, where people can chat and socialise. The shop is excited to see what opportunities next summer brings, with benches hopefully being added outside the shop as a nice rest area for those grabbing a coffee.
