Officer injured in “fail to stop incident”

A police officer suffered leg injuries in the early hours of this morning (Monday, December 10) when a vehicle failed to stop.

The incident happened in Brockworth, Gloucester, close to 4am and involved three police vehicles and another vehicle, later found abandoned.

Enquiries are said to be ongoing to locate what police are calling "the outstanding offenders".

One of our officers was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries which are described as "not serious". He has since been discharged from hospital.

A number of roads in Brockworth were closed (Boverton Drive, Court Road and Moorfield Road) following the incident - all now reopened.

"We would like to thank the local community for their patience while police were at the scene for a number of hours this morning," said a spokesman for the police.
