Plans announced for new healthcare facility and sustainable homes in Tetbury

Stonewood Partnerships Ltd has revealed proposals to relocate Tetbury's existing GP surgery and build new homes in partnership with Phoenix Health Group.

The developer plans to deliver a modern, purpose-built healthcare facility along with 27 sustainable new homes, including affordable housing.
Tetbury's existing surgery is said to be no longer fit for purpose and, with the lease on its Long Street site due to end in 2025, the provision of a new healthcare facility hopes to create a 50 per cent increase in clinical capacity - improving access to care for the community long into the future.
Alongside the new healthcare facilities, and to help fund its construction, the development would deliver high-quality new homes to meet the needs of a range of residents. The proposals include 27 sustainably designed homes with 11 being affordable.
The proposed site, on land off Cirencester Road, is easily accessible by car - with 52 dedicated parking spaces to better serve the needs of the local community than at the current town centre GP location. An improved footpath connection to the Tetbury Trail will also be delivered together with improved connections along Cirencester Road.
A public consultation on the proposals launches today, with plans available to view on the consultation website www.tetburyconsultation.co.uk.

A community drop-in event will be held on September 7, between 3 and 7pm, where residents are invited to find out more and share feedback on the scheme.
James Petherick, from Stonewood Partnerships, said: "We are excited to be working in partnership with Phoenix Health Group to relocate Tetbury's GP surgery and, to fund its timely delivery and meet local needs, deliver sustainably designed new homes, which would cut heating bills by up to 70 per cent compared to the industry standard.
"We are committed to delivering a positive scheme that builds on our legacy of high-quality developments locally, such as the popular 'Orchard Field' scheme in Cirencester. We look forward to hearing the community's feedback on our plans as they evolve."
Dr. Peter Hill, from Phoenix Health Group, said: "We have already expanded to make full use of our current town centre surgery and are unable to meet the growing needs of the community. Together with Stonewood Properties, we hope to bring forward this important development for Tetbury, which would secure longterm, quality healthcare for the community."
