Pilgrim’s progress: Stunning time-lapse video of Cathedral project
By Andrew Merrell | 18th June 2018
Like all worthwhile projects it is the journey Project Pilgrim has taken Gloucester Cathedral on that has helped make it such a success so far. And there is more to come.
The most dramatic and obvious change perhaps is visible in the new space which greets fellow travellers as they pass through the main gates.
An incredible amount of work has gone on so far to see through the brave move of replacing a car park with seating, planting, new paving and landscaping.
For those who missed what has gone on so far to transform the physical environs of what is one of the county's premier tourist attractions, stunning buildings and not to mention places of worship, those behind the scenes of the Heritage Lottery Funded project captured the work using the modern miracle that is time-lapse photography.
And it is not over yet. Project Pilgrim is described as "an ambitious ten-year programme of capital development, regeneration and community engagement".
Other partners which have helped make the project possible to date include the Friends of Gloucester Cathedral, The Gloucestershire Environmental Trust Company, Gloucester City Council and Gloucestershire County Council.
