Thousands of classic car fans flocked to Highnam Court, near Gloucester, yesterday (Sunday) to admire a huge array of classic cars and trucks and enjoy the lovely gardens.
The event saw around 350 classic cars on display and looks set to have raised many thousands of pounds for the Gloucestershire-based Pied Piper Appeal.
Punchline editor Mark Owen joined the crowds at the event and chatted to Pied Piper Appeal chairman Nick Broady, who said: "It's amazing. We didn't realise it would be this successful."
"I want to thank our main sponsors Malvern Tyres obviously. They've been with us since 2000 when we first started the car show at Highnam Court and also thanks to APM Fire & Security and everyone else who has supported us, especially our volunteers who have been amazing. They're so important.. It's pretty rammed and I think we have 350 classic cars here today.so a big thanks to them all."
Matt Moulder of co-sponsors APM Fire and Security was busy on one of the fund-raising stalls. He said: "I've had a really good day so far. We've had a rugby challenge with as many balls you can get through the holes in 60 seconds. We've got signed Gloucester shirts for the winners and have already raised £200 just by doing the ball game."
The day was a lot more than classic cars and trucks - there were plenty of attractions to entertain the children such as go karting, face painting, and guess how many balloons are in the car. There was also a bumper charity raffle with some great prizes on offer.
Other exhibitors include We Move Bikes (e-bikes), Taurus Crystals, The Mortgage branch, Utilities Warehouse and Crimestoppers.
Visitors also enjoyed the extensive landscaped gardens which were in their floral prime and families were able to follow the sculpture trail around the gardens.
