Nursing home contract is catalyst for expansion along motorway network

Groundworks have started on a major extension at Hyperion House nursing home at Fairford.

The 12-month long project includes the partial demolition of an existing structure and replacement with a 31-room extension, which will double the home's present capacity.

The ambitious re-development at the Gloucestershire nursing, dementia and residential care home on behalf of clients Diva Care is being carried out by Helm Construction. The key contract win marks the latest stage in Bristol-based Helm's expansion plans along the M4 and M5 axis.

Jon Ticehurst, Helm Construction contracts director (pictured), said: "We challenged ourselves to expand along the M4 in both directions and the M5 to the north and south, so we are particularly pleased to have been selected for this key development at Hyperion House."

Helm Construction began as a small village business and has grown to be among the top five per cent of construction firms in the South West, tackling medium to large size building projects for both residential and commercial property developers. Turnover this year is up 100 percent on 2013.
