New student quarter opens for business and it's a big boost for Gloucester

Students from the University of Gloucestershire have been moving into Gloucester's gleaming new student quarter.

Workmen were today putting the finishing touches to the landscaping around the impressive development of around 240 student rooms on the site at Barbican Way, Gloucester.

The building has transformed the site which had previously lay derelict for many years.

The £18 million scheme has been led by main developer Cityheart, with main contractor Vinci.

Punchline believes this scheme is a triumph for the university and the local authorities who have worked hard to make it happen.

It will help breath fresh life into Gloucester city centre and boost the local economy with the students using local businesses and retail outlets.
