New store set to open on site of Gloucester's former Poundworld store

The former Poundworld store on Eastgate Street has got a new occupier.

Discount chain One Below will open their doors next week in the premises on 4-6 Eastgate Street.

One Below is a new venture started by the founders of Poundworld, with the company rapidly expanding since opening their first store in March.

According to reports, they plan to open 50 stores nationally before the end of 2019, creating up to 1,000 jobs.

It is unclear, as yet, how many new roles will be created in their Gloucester store.

One Below advertise that their stores sell items for £1 or less - hence the name.

According to an advert on their website, One Below will open its doors at 10am on Friday, August 16.
