Menswear retailer to open on Promenade

Menswear retailer, Charles Tyrwhitt, is hoping to open a store in Cheltenham this summer.
The retailer has submitted an application to Cheltenham Borough Council for planning permission for a blue fascia sign on 102-104 Promenade.

The property is the former Superdry and White Stuff store. The Superdry concept store was open for just a year from November 2021 until November 2022. The shop unit has been vacant ever since.
Charles Tyrwhitt sells men's formalwear and smart casual clothing - from suits to shorts, polo shirts and shoes. It offers a custom shirt range and shoppers can also book an appointment with an in-store expert to help with styling and fitting.
It is currently advertising for a store manager and senior sales assistant for the Cheltenham store, which it says will open in August.
Charles Tyrwhitt started out as a mail order company in 1986, because owner Nicholas Wheeler thought he 'could make a shirt better than anyone else'. It opened its first store on London's Jermyn Street in 1997.
It now has stores across the UK, including Bristol, Swindon, Oxford and Birmingham, as well as stores in the USA and Paris. It opened a flagship 4,200 sq ft Regent Street store in London last month.
Cheltenham-based property consultant, KBW, is letting the property on behalf of clients. KBW has confirmed that the shop is currently under offer.
