Man seriously injured following glider crash in Cotswolds

An investigation has been launched after a glider crashed near Stroud.

Gloucestershire Constabulary said it received a call at 4.50pm yesterday (March 23) from a member of the public "who thought they had seen and heard a glider come down at the Aston Down airfield near Stroud".

"Officers attended and found a man had been badly hurt," said a statement from the police.

"He was taken to Southmead hospital by air ambulance with life threatening injuries."

Air accident investigators were informed and are now working to piece together what happened.
