Major refurbishment for Gloucestershire Hotel
21st February 2018
Stonehouse Court Hotel is celebrating the opening of its new-look cocktail bar, Bar 1601, with an exclusive launch party on February 22nd.
A glamorous cocktail bar serving a range of cocktails, artisanal gins, and selected wines, Bar 1601 has benefitted from substantial refurbishment by designers Squid Inc, with refurbishment taking place over a number of weeks at a cost of £25,000.
Following the relaunch of the property's Court Brasserie restaurant in 2017, Stonehouse Court has created an inventive new drinks menu plus the classic cocktail bar, while also serving a range of coffees, teas, homemade cakes and pastries, as well as bar snacks.
As with the Court Brasserie, significant effort has been made to ensure the design is in keeping with the storied 400-year history of Stonehouse Court. Bar 1601 has been lovingly updated, with its many oak-panelled features painstakingly maintained, adding both to the property's historic charm as well as to its modern image.
"We set out with the intention of putting a modern Gloucestershire spin on the time-honoured cocktail bar concept", commented Marian Jurko, Stonehouse Court General Manager. "We have enjoyed tremendous support from both our drinks partners at St Austell's, as well as or design team, and are excited to showcase this exciting new offering to our customers on February 22nd."
"The team have worked tirelessly to bring our collective vision to life", added Sarah Brewster, owner of Stonehouse Court. "The launch of Bar 1601 continues a trend of substantial recent investment into the property, following the recent launch of The Court Brasserie, itself further adding to the modern, dynamic atmosphere of the property."
