Major Cheltenham hotel on the market

A Grade II listed hotel in Cheltenham town centre is on the market.

Christie & Co is selling the 31-bedroom The George Hotel. The hotel dates back to 1840 and is made up of five converted townhouses.

Located on St George's Road to the west of the Cheltenham town centre, the hotel is close to the Promenade and Montpellier and is a mile from Cheltenham Spa railway station and two miles from the world famous Cheltenham Racecourse.

Matthew Smith, director at Christie & Co's Bristol office said: "This is a rare opportunity to purchase an established freehold hotel business in central Cheltenham, one of the UK's most desirable towns. The opportunity provides an array of possibilities to maximise gross profit margins by reconfiguring and creating more bedrooms, continue operating as a full service hotel or perhaps an alternative use."

The George Hotel is on the market at a reduced asking price of £3.25m.
