Lipsticks selling in high numbers as women prepare for nights out after Freedom Day

Lipsticks are said to be 'flying off the shelves' as there has been a 61% increase in the variety of colours of lipsticks bought in the second quarter of the year compared with the first.

This is in tandem with the easing of restrictions and less people staying at home, thus giving more people a chance to get dressed up, whether to go back to the office or for meals and nights out.

Grace Vernon, of No 7 Beauty Company, said: 'We are expecting to see a lipstick and lip gloss boom.

'Women are relishing the fact that they can finally coat their lips without worrying it has smudged all over their face and on to the lining of their masks.'
