Lilian Faithfull Care to open first charity shop

Lilian Faithfull Care will soon be opening its first charity shop in Tewkesbury.

Over its 76 year history, the Gloucestershire charity has cared for many Tewkesbury residents and their families, so believes the town is a fitting location to launch this new venture.

Named 'Faithfull Vintage & Treasure', the shop will be situated on Tewkesbury High Street, opposite the popular Café au Chocolat and next door to Peacocks.

Customers will be able to browse, recycle and refresh your wardrobe and homeware with local, affordable and sustainable fashion. A children's section will also have pocket money treasures as well as clothing and books.

Martin Hughes, CEO of the charity said: "The shop will raise important funds for the charity to care for more people in Gloucestershire, and raise awareness of the exceptional care we provide across our two adult day hubs and five residential and nursing homes."

Shop manager, Sarah Merritt is local to Tewkesbury and has worked for the charity for nearly six years.

"I've worked in retail before so when this shop manager opportunity came up within the charity, it sounded perfect," she said.

The charity is currently recruiting volunteers who can give a few hours or a day, on a regular basis, to help in the new shop.

"I am excited about bringing a team of volunteers together and would love to hear from anyone who might be able to help," added Ms Merritt.
