Last chance to submit application for cash boost

Time is running out for community groups to apply for grants potentially worth hundreds of pounds.

The Rotary Community Awards, organised by the four Rotary Clubs in Gloucester, are looking for a number local organisations to support within the city area with grants of up to £500 each.

Applications must be submitted by 5pm this Thursday.

This is the third year of the small grants programme, after helping many groups make real and lasting differences to the running of their organisations.

The four Rotary Clubs of Gloucester raise funds through a variety of means to help benefit charities and local communities.

Funding initiatives include the Tree of Light, street and store collections at Christmas, golf days, boxing events, sporting dinners, the Gloucester Dragon Boat Race and even providing car parking for matches played at Kingsholm.

The total amount of funding that the four Rotary Clubs are likely to have available for this awards programme is around £8,750.00.

The maximum award to any one organisation is £500 and no application will be considered too small.

Priority will be given to projects promoted by small groups or organisations that:

  • Offer value for money by involving a good number of beneficiaries;
  • Work with vulnerable or disadvantaged children or adults;
  • Work in a deprived Gloucester community.

Applications for salaries will not be considered.

The funding is open to registered charities, voluntary organisations and community groups whose work benefits local residents or communities in the city.

The organisation does not necessarily have to be office-based in the city.
