News one of Cheltenham's landmark regency offices is on the market might have left the curious wondering what is afoot for the businesses inside the building.
Lauriston House in the town's Montpellier quarter is being marketed by Gloucestershire-based property experts Bruton Knowles.
It is the first time in three decades the detached 7,033 sq ft offices, opposite Montpellier Wine Bar, has been on the market.
Dorian Wragg, partner and head of commercial at Bruton Knowles said: "Lauriston House is one of the most prominent and imposing Georgian Villas in Cheltenham. It has been occupied by the freeholder and is now available to rent for the first time in 30 years. I am not expecting it to be on the market for too long."
Which will be welcome news for one of the current tenants in particular.
"What we are doing is evaluating the market for this landmark property. We as shareholders of the company are also the landlords.' said Des Mills, financial director of Dezac, which has its headquarters in the building, which also bears the legend Dezac House.
The company is described as a leading producer and distributor of beauty, wellness and fitness products marketed under a number of brands including Rio, Salon Essentials, Aeropilates, Bodi-Tek and HOVER-X.
"Should we find a suitable head Tenant we (Dezac) would relocate to a new office. There are also two other businesses in the building, one of which - Holiday Architects - already has plans to relocate to Eagle Tower, the other Cotswold Face & Beauty Clinic we would expect to remain."
Dezac employs 10 staff in Cheltenham and a further 30 in The Forest of Dean.
Emma Beddow, the owner of Cotswold Face & Beauty Clinic, said: "We are currently on the lower ground floor, where we have our own entrance and our customers love it. We are planning to stay and it will be business as usual."
Lauriston House dates from the 1840s and is Grade II listed and offers eight dedicated parking spaces.
This impressive period building comprises a detached four storey building with a more modern extension to the rear.
