Kitchen Garden release new products to help revive a slowing market

Multi award-winning Stroud-based producers Kitchen Garden are launching two new products into the competitive preserves and condiments market.

Sundried Tomato and Chipotle Relish is a rich, smokey, spicy relish that the company describes as "perfect as an upgrade to a normal burger relish."

Pineapple and Papaya Relish is "a sweet and sour treat" that is "full of fruit and has a slight oriental vibe to it."

Commercial director James Horwood (pictured) said: "The traditional preserves market is a tough one to compete in.

"Fortunately, we've 28 years' experience under our belt, but with more players than ever before, and suggestions of a diminishing customer base, it's now more important than ever to look to the future of the food industry and develop some exciting new products to lead the way. These two products are the first phase of this project.

James Moinet, operations director and head of New Product Development, added: "These products bring something interesting to the market with some exciting flavours.

"Spicy food is bang on trend at the moment and the Chipotle chillies are a great addition to the sundried tomato.

"Pineapple and Papaya is perfect as a summer-time relish and has a very refreshing taste."

Kitchen Garden Foods was founded in 1989 by Barbara Moinet and now supply over 500 outlets across all of the UK and overseas.

All of their products are made by hand, in small batches, using only natural ingredients.

The Sundried Tomato and Chipotle Relish and the Pineapple and Papaya Relish both have an RRP of £3.40 and are available at www.kitchengardenfoods.co.uk.
