Kier tops construction contract league

New contract wins in the second half of last year saw Kier top the contracts league rankings for 2022.

The firm took pole position in the league rankings with a total work haul estimated at £3.18bn - a big rise from its seventh place and £1.33bn haul in 2021, as reported by Construction Enquirer.

Kier, which has worked on several major projects in Gloucestershire including Gloucester's Transport Hub and The High School Leckhampton, was far ahead of second-placed ISG.

Mace took third place, while Morgan Sindall's bid teams ended the year with the greatest number of new projects at 132 schemes, just ahead of Kier's 118 successful bids.

Together, the top 100 firms bagged nearly £43bn of work - an increase of 10% on last year, as order books continued to bounce back from Covid.

Many of the key orders came from the warehouse and industrial sector, with a boost from major entertainment and sports venue work.
