Kids’ football team scores new kit thanks to McDonald's

Local grassroots football club Bishop Cleeve Colts FC received a new kit for its under 8s and under 9s teams, thanks to the McDonald's restaurants in Cheltenham, owned by franchisee Carl Room.

Bishop Cleeve Colts is one of the largest youth football clubs in Gloucestershire, run entirely by volunteers, with over 300 players ranging from 7 to 18.

Carl has supported many local sports clubs in the areas surrounding his restaurants since he became a franchisee. He believes in donating valuable kit and equipment that enables clubs to offer ongoing fun and development to local children.

Carl, who owns and operates 11 restaurants across Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, said: "It was great to visit the younger members of Bishop Cleeve Colts and meet the brilliant volunteers who are so passionate about football. We're so inspired by the work that they do to enable these young players to progress and enjoy the sport.

"It's important that, as a business, we support local teams like this to help them continue creating positive environments for young, aspiring players in our community."

Adam Coates, football coach from Bishop Cleeve Colts FC, said: "The players are over the moon with their new kits and they have already been put to good use in their recent matches. This donation has made such a difference to the team, and we're so grateful to Carl and the McDonald's team for their help."

Here at Punchline we know that lots of businesses in the county support their local youth football teams and we would love to feature you!
