Join in celebrating Gloucestershire's social value

Gloucestershire's social, private and public sectors — alongside inspired communities and amazing individuals — are invited to showcase their purposeful impact, action and change.

Gloucestershire's Social Value Week is an opportunity to share your amazing story of how your organisation, group or selfless purpose is supporting and changing the county for the better every day.

The theme for 2025 is Learn, Lead, and Communicate Gloucestershire's Social Value. Your stories are incredibly powerful; they bond, inspire, and emotionally motivate us to alter our perspectives and seek positive social change. Whether it's a personal journey, a shared experience, or an intended social mission, these stories allow us to see the world through different eyes. They evoke empathy, teach valuable lessons, and communicate complex change in a way that resonates deeply.

Rupert Walters, one of the organisers, said: "Social Value Week brings us together to inspire each other to Learn Lead and Communicate, embracing a new era of business, public service provision, and purposeful social impact for our communities."

How to participate:

You are invited to:

  • Write a blog: Share your impactful journey.
  • Record a podcast: Tell your story with The Music Works (www.themusicworks.org.uk).
  • Produce a short film: Capture your purpose with Still Moving Media (www.stillmovingmedia.com)
  • Your contribution can be a one-off piece or a series spread across the week.

Key date:

Monday, April 7 - Start sharing your story on your social media platforms, linking it to Gloucestershire Social Value Week's channels, for all to see, share, and be inspired by our shared social mission.

Tips for Sharing Your Social Value Story

  • Know your purpose and audience: Understand who you're speaking to and why your story matters.
  • Create a strong hook: Grab your audience's attention from the very beginning.
  • Build an emotional connection: Share personal insights and conclude with the impact you've made.
  • Be authentic: Your genuine story is your most powerful asset — let it come alive in your own unique style.
  • Focus on people: At its core, social value is 100% about people and the positive impact we have on each other's lives.

Get involved:

We are now confronted with the challenge of not only sustaining the environment but also our communities, people, and all other inhabitants of the natural world. Share your amazing story of how your organisation, group, or selfless purpose is supporting and changing Gloucestershire — and beyond — for the better every day.

Join a Movement for Change:

The goal is to make Gloucestershire Social Value Week an annual event that raises awareness of the positive differences we all make for each other.
