IRP award winner goes solo with new Gloucestershire recruitment company

A Gloucestershire businessman is using his recruitment industry experience to cover supply needs by creating an education employment agency.

Ellis Thorne has created Thrive Education to cover the South West.

He hopes to use his experience in recruitment and teaching to offer a unique recruitment experience that rises above that offered by their competitors in an already crowded and established field.

Ellis Thorne began his career in educational recruitment back in 2016 and has gone from strength to strength, picking up nominations and personal awards along the way. The most notable being the Best Newcomer of the Year award at the prestigious Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP) Awards in 2017.

Mr Thorne hopes to use his understanding of how schools work and what it takes to get the right teacher in the right class to every aspect of his recruitment service.

He said: "The secret of a successful agency is to really look at the needs of both schools and teachers. It would be easy to take a ' plug the gap ' approach but in the long run this isn't what builds a meaningful and honest relationship with practitioners , it's not always about making money, you need to show genuine commitment to the details of a placement to really thrive".

An existing Thrive Education client said: "I have worked with Ellis for a number of years now and can honestly say that the support and service he provides is second to none. Not only is Ellis very professional and personable, he understands how schools work and (very importantly for me) does not do the pushy salesman role at all. Ellis has always gone above and beyond and provided a level of support I hadn't envisaged."
