Housebuilder supports Hempsted's Heart Hunt

In collaboration with a number of other local businesses, Gloucester-based Newland Homes is sponsoring this year's Hempsted Heart Hunt.

The Heart Hunt is a fun village trail aiming to raise money for a defibrillator for Hempsted Church of England Primary School and to fund first aid training for the children.

It has been organised by the Friends of Hempsted Church of England Primary School and takes place across the village on Saturday, April 27 from 10.30am until 1.30pm.

Heart trail maps will be available to purchase from the village hall for £1.50 on the day and heart hunters will then follow the trail clues, which have been decorated by the school children, around the village to find the hidden message.

Small prizes will be presented for completed trails returned to the village hall afterwards, where there will also be refreshments, homemade cakes, face painting and games.

The trail is being sponsored by a number of local businesses including Newland Homes, who were recently named as one of the UK's fastest growing businesses.

They are currently building nearby Newark Meadows, a 44-home development in the village. The development's show home and marketing suite will be open from 10am until 4pm on the day of the event.

Gail Remnant, associate sales director for Newland Homes, said: "First aid is a vital skill for everyone to have and you can never be too young to learn. We're very proud to support the Hempsted Heart Hunt and look forward to seeing the defibrillator installed within the school.

"In order to take part in all the fun of the trail, we will be changing our show home and marketing suite opening hours for the day, with an extra treat in store for heart hunters."

Charlotte Brannigan, chair of Friends of Hempsted School, said: "We are grateful for Newland Homes' support for the Heart Hunt - the defibrillator is a vital piece of life-saving equipment which we hope to be able to purchase for the school. We are looking forward to a fun-filled day of heart hunting around the village!"

Homes currently available at Newark Meadows include three, four and five-bedroom homes, as well as three-bedroom bungalows with prices starting at £295,000.
