Heart radio are pulling the plug on their Gloucester operation as part of a series of cuts that will see 100 jobs go across the country.
The decision made by Global media will see the closure of 10 of its 24 local stations. It means the peak breakfast and drive slots will no longer locally-produced
Listeners in Gloucestershire who are currently tuning in to Myles Galloway's breakfast show will no longer be able to listen to a county-based presenter.
Instead, Heart will broadcast a single breakfast show across England, Scotland and Wales instead of the 22 different shows currently aired.
During the drive hours 23 separate shows will be changed to 10 different broadcasts covering enlarged areas of the country.
The other centres to close will be Brighton, Cambridge, Chelmsford, Exeter, Kendal, Kent, Lancaster, Norwich and Swindon.
Local news and travel information will continue to air on the new station as part of the commercial radio licence agreement with Ofcom.
The change also affects Capital Radio and Smooth, who will both move to a national breakfast show.
Capital will air nine different Drive shows while Smooth will operated seven.
In Gloucestershire, Heart began life as Severn Sound in 1980, operating from the Old Talbot pub on Southgate Street.
It became part of Global Radio in 2008 and was rebranded to Heart in 2009.
Their current base is in the Bridge Studios, part of the Eastgate Shopping Centre in the centre of Gloucester.
