Have your say about proposed new look for public space

Business owners are being invited to express their views about design ideas for Gloucester city centre.

A series of walk-in sessions and an online consultation will be launched by Gloucester City Council this week to gather feedback on design suggestions for a new 'public realm scheme' in the city centre.

The area of focus for this scheme is across the four gates streets, with emphasis on the Cross, Westgate Street, and Eastgate Street.

Suggestions for new street furniture and ways to improve the current public space will be available for comment.

Business owners, members of the public and other organisations are encouraged to submit feedback that will then be incorporated into what the public space in the city centre will look like in the future.

Walk-in sessions will be held at Unit 16 in Kings Walk this Friday between 3pm and 7pm, and on Saturday between 11am and 3pm.

Feedback can also be submitted online through the Gloucester City Council website from this Friday until Monday, 15 May.

Anthony Hodge, head of regeneration at Gloucester City Council, said: "It's really important that the people of Gloucester let us know what they think of our proposed designs for the city centre public space.

"I'd encourage people to either drop in and speak to us or let us know their thoughts through our online consultation."
