A walk in aid of Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity has raised more than £11,000.
Staff, patients, loved ones and supporters all laced up their shoes on Sunday, May 8 for Walk for Wards.
The event at the beautiful Bathurst Estate in Cirencester attracted more than 200 people. They each completed either a 3km or 10km route in aid of the charity’s CT Scanner Appeal or a ward of their choice.
It was the first time the event had been held since 2019 due to the pandemic.
Richard Smith, head of fundraising, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make Walk for Wards such an incredible event this year.
“With over two hundred people taking part, it was amazing to see so many people come out to support and fundraise for our local NHS.
“So far over £11,000 and counting has been raised in support of projects across our local hospitals, including our CT Scanner Appeal.
“We'd also like to thank our volunteers, sponsors and The Bathurst Estate for welcoming us at Cirencester Park and helping to make the event a success."
The sun appeared for the walkers, some of whom dedicated their efforts in memory of loved ones.
The event raised money for 17 different hospital wards including urology and Knightsbridge ward which specialises in respiratory conditions.
Family members Austin, Bethan, Dylan and Imogen walked for Gloucestershire Maternity Bereavement Team.
Bethan said: "We had such an amazing day out as a family in the most beautiful setting.
“It was made even more special knowing that we had helped raise funds for an amazing cause whilst saying thank you to our incredible NHS."
