Gloucestershire festival forced to stay silent for another year

Barn on the Farm Festival, which was due to be held Over Farm this summer, has been cancelled.

The festival near Gloucester, which has featured the likes of Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi in the past, was due to run from June 30-July 3.

But organisers said they had been forced to cancel the event due to ongoing uncertainty over the lifting of coronavirus restrictions.

A statement released by the organisers said: "Although the government roadmap is running on track, with us falling only 10 days after the end date for restrictions lifting, we feel there remains too much uncertainty.

"This, coupled alongside the lack of appropriate government-backed cancellation insurance, has rendered this year too great a risk for us to continue planning in the festival's current format."

"This has been an incredibly tough decision to make, especially after the disappointment of last year, but as a team we feel this is the best option."

Organisers said they were looking at alternative options for the planned dates with tickets eligible for next year or a refund.
