23rd February 2018
Gloucestershire logistics company CM Downton has secured an £8 million five year contract.
Prinvois UK, the UK subsidiary of Europe's largest printing services provider BPG, has renewed its UK distribution contract with Downton for another five years. This extends a relationship that started in 2010.
Downton distributes loads direct from the Speke plant in Merseyside to Prinovis UK customers throughout the UK, including key news wholesalers. Downton staff are based on site to liaise with the plant's production and warehouse teams. Downton also maintains a core fleet of eight vehicles at the site to fulfil the deliveries, with additional capacity provided by its wider national transport network.
Prinovis UK offers a full range of print-related services. In addition to printing magazines and colour supplements for major publishers and news groups at its plant in Speke, it also produces catalogues, leaflets and other printed materials for customers across a wide range of industries.
David Hutchings, head of business development at CM Downton, said: "This contract extension is testimony to the excellent service and strong relationship that we have built with Prinovis UK over the past eight years. Our on-site team goes that extra mile and provides the close support that makes a real difference to the day-to-day operation. The contract is another example of how we deliver highly effective integrated solutions for our clients across the UK print, publishing and paper industry."
