A 65-year-old Gloucester woman charged with murdering her own son has been found dead at home, it has been revealed.
Joy Liddell, of Sandyleaze, Longlevens, Gloucester, was on bail charged with killing her son Michael Liddell, 35, on January 31 this year and was scheduled for trial at Bristol Crown Court on July 29.
A spokesman for Gloucestershire coroner Katie Skerrett said Mrs Liddell was found dead on Saturday, March 30.
He said a post mortem has yet to be carried out on her body to determine the cause of death, but was likely to be done within the next few days.
An inquest into her death will only take place if it is found not to have been from natural causes.
Mrs Liddell had been arrested shortly after the death of her son and was held for questioning before appearing at Cheltenham Magistrates court on February 4 where she was remanded in custody pending trial.
She had been granted bail last month at a plea and trial preparation hearing at Bristol Crown court.
