Gloucester man awaits sentence after admitting to threatening man with meat cleaver
By Court reporter | 2nd April 2019
A Gloucester teenager who has admitted threatening a man with a meat cleaver in the city's Painswick Road area has been placed under electronic curfew pending sentence by a crown court judge.
At Cheltenham Magistrates court last week Josh Kidd, 18, of Lossiemouth road pleaded guilty to having the cleaver in public and unlawfully and intentionally threatening Jherek Beattie with it "in such a way that there was an immediate risk of serious physical harm to him."
The magistrates decided the offence was too serious for them to deal with and they committed Kidd to Gloucester crown court for sentence on 12th April.
They imposed an electronically monitored curfew on Kidd requiring him to be home every night between 6pm and 8am.
They also made it a condition of his bail that he must not contact Mr Beattie or go to Painswick Road, Matson Lane or Norbury Avenue.
He must also report twice a week to Gloucester Police Station pending sentence .
