Gloucester shoplifter stole from five stores on the same day

A shoplifter who stole £1,125 worth of goods from five Gloucester stores on the same day has been placed under home curfew for eight weeks.
Margaret McDonnagh, 39, of Weston Road, Gloucester, pleaded guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on November 11 to thefts from TK Maxx, JD Sports, River Island, Sports Direct and Peacocks, all committed on September 20 this year.
The court heard that she walked out of TK Maxx with earrings, perfume and a jumper worth £201. From JD Sports she took £300 worth of sports clothing. At River Island she stole £249 worth of clothing, and at Peacocks more clothing, this time worth £286. Clothing was also her target at Sports Direct where she walked out with items valued at £89.98.
The magistrates imposed a one-year community order on McDonnagh with an 8 week electronically monitored home curfew from 8pm to 8am each night. She was also ordered to take part in rehabilitation activities for up to fifteen days.
She was also ordered to pay costs and a victim services surcharge totalling £180.
