New festive arrivals for Gloucester Quays

There will be more than 12 days of Christmas at Gloucester Quays with a bumper festive season of activities and attractions for all the family.

Whether it's a shopping spree, trip out with the kids or dinner and drinks with the girls, there is something for everyone.

Festive cheer will be sprinkled across Gloucester Quays from The Victorian Christmas Market and an Open-air ice rink to brass bands playing carols around the Christmas tree and even a chance to meet Santa himself at Claus' Christmas Cabin.

Here are some festive attractions taking place at Gloucester Quays this Christmas:

Step back in time

Dickensian Gloucester will be brought to life with our Victorian Christmas Market taking place between Thursday November 15th and Sunday November 25th.

Characters in traditional dress, live blacksmith demonstrations and a carousel and helter-skelter will add a touch of historical flavour to this popular event which runs for 11 days.

Visitors can soak up the festive atmosphere and stop for a mulled wine or bite to eat at one of the many food stalls at the market selling everything from hot sausages to mince pies.

Artisan producers from across Gloucestershire and beyond will also be on hand to help you find that unique art, craft or culinary gift for a loved one that you will not find on the high street.

Santa Claus is coming to Gloucester Quays

Let your little ones' imaginations run wild when the magical world of the North Pole comes to Gloucester Quays.

Santa and his friends will be at Claus' Christmas Cabin between Thursday November 15th and Monday December 24th.

Youngsters can take a festive walk to the traditional log cabin surrounded by enchanting woodland to meet Santa and receive their special gift

This immersive experience is aimed at children aged between one and nine and entry is £10 per child and adults go free.

Get your skates on

Now in its third year, the large open-air ice rink draws thousands of visitors of all ages.

The rink in Orchard Square is the perfect holiday activity with something for everyone from the novice to the experienced skater and even the spectator too with a ski chalet-style bar serving hot food.

It will run from Thursday November 15th to Sunday January 6th.

Gloucester Quays centre manager Matt Bird said: "Our customers will be able to experience the magic of a traditional Christmas at Gloucester Quays this festive season.

"The hugely popular Victorian Christmas Market will be back for 11 days this year bringing with it all of its Dickensian charm and fantastic shopping and family attractions.

"Orchard Square will also be home once again to our open-air ice rink and children and big kids alike can also pay a visit to Santa in Claus' Christmas Cabin."
