Gloucester firm's sh-elf life stunt

Gloucester-based shelving company BiGDUG gave 'elf and safety' a thing or two to think about when they recreated an iconic photograph.
The UK's largest shelving company gave a festive twist to their recreation of the famous New York 'Lunch atop a skyscraper' image.
The firm, which has its headquarters on Bristol Road in Gloucester, went to London's Observation Point at Southwark to get the publicity photo.
Passers-by caught a glimpse of the workforce of Santa's little helpers climbing a set of giant shelves to enjoy a morning break against the London skyline.
The eleven strong troupe of parcel packers were photographed with festive lunch boxes, containing treats like seasonal candy cane.
The stunt echoed the famous 'Lunch atop a Skyscraper' photograph, published in the New York Herald-Tribune in 1932 (and reproduced on posters ever since).
Last year BiGDUG made headlines when they transformed their company headquarters into the UK's largest advent calendar and earlier this year, they became the main shirt sponsor of Gloucester Rugby.
Polly Maclennan, PR Manager at BiGDUG, said: "At BiGDUG we are well aware that we sell pretty dull products, but just because we are functional, doesn't mean we can't be fun!
"We love the fact that we could build our shelves high enough to recreate this iconic image, lined with our very own elves!"
