Running event to take to Gloucester streets

Nine hundred runners are due to line up for Gloucester 10 running event.
Don't panic if you were thinking of coming into Gloucester this weekend and are worried about traffic or are in training still - you have a whole week to go.
But next Sunday, July 6, will mark the fifth year of the event rescued by Davies and Partners and established as one of the city's premier sporting events.
"We are expecting 900 on the start line - for a slightly earlier start time of 8.45am, to avoid an impact on the roads.
"We have kept the road closures to a minimum, but it will effect Spa Road, Southgate Street, Llanthony Road and Llanthony Bridge, as well as Pitt Street - which will only be closed for a short time," said Nigel Tillott, the managing partner of Gloucester-based solicitors Davies and Partners and the man who has driven the event forward.
City-based construction firm E G Carter & Co Ltd has agreed to be the main sponsors of the 10k for a third year.
Every year the race seeks to raise money for county charities, and this year
Beneficiaries will be MIND and Young Gloucestershire.
The course is designed with sightseeing in mind but is predominantly flat taking in Gloucester Cathedral, Gloucester Docks and the Quays.
