Glevum Security increases business by 20 per cent

A continuing commitment to protecting people and property by using the very latest innovations in the industry has helped Glevum Security increase its business by 20 per cent.

Founded by directors Mark Baker and Steve Barnett 17 years ago, the Gloucester-based firm is continually developing its services and products to provide customers with security they can trust 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Now with its own training academy, Glevum Security's growing client base includes some of the best-known companies and organisations in the UK and many listed in this year's Punchline top 100 biggest employers in Gloucestershire.

Mr Baker said: "I'm delighted to say that we've seen a 20 per cent increase in business over the past year.

"From mobile patrols to CCTV static training, we've had a massive spike in each area of the business.

"As well as picking up more work from longstanding customers, we're being approached by many new customers too. We're finding that we're picking up new business in every sector, not just a handful of areas.

"More and more people know that we're dedicated to delivering the latest developments and innovations in security, hardware and services to every one of our customers. We've gone from strength to strength over the past 17 years and I believe that now we are the leading manned and guard-security company in the whole of Gloucestershire."

Products and services available from Glevum Security include alarmed response, mobile patrol inspections, static security, security guarding, residential monitoring, key holding and lone-worker monitoring.

Among the jewels in the crown of the business is the remote video monitoring service provided from Glevum Security's state-of-the-art control centre at Waterwells Business Park. Each uniquely designed system provides all the benefits of a manned on-site presence, plus real-time recording and instant alerts, at a fraction of the cost.

Mr Barnett said: "Any incidents are recorded and examined in real-time and our highly trained operators can immediately contact the relevant authorities whilst compiling high-quality video evidence.

"The applications are limitless either for outdoor or indoor monitoring and large areas or separate buildings can be constantly remotely monitored 365 days a year.

"Remote video monitoring can not only be used for security but for other applications, such as watching automatic processes when there are no staff members on site.

"It also reduces the amount of time spent on wasted false alarms as our highly-trained operators can assess each situation and immediately decide whether the authorities need to be alerted and dispatched, or if our mobile patrols can attend and deal with the incident."

Glevum Security's training academy offers courses in a variety of areas, including CCTV operations, security guarding and door supervision.

Through partnerships with many employability organisations, the courses provide people who take them with skills to re-enter the workplace.
