Give the best gift of all this Christmas

Minchinhampton-based Longfield Community Hospice have launched a new initiative called 'The Care Package', with the aim of spreading kindness and care this Christmas and beyond.

The Care Package is a box of delights that you can buy as a gift, for a patient or unpaid carer of Longfield Hospice or perhaps you need a treat yourself!

The package includes a good read and indulgences to encourage some pampering and wellbeing and can be bought as a one-off or as a quarterly subscription.

Whoever you choose to send a Care Package to, it's guaranteed to put a smile on their face. And the great news is that every Care Package bought will help to fund the free care and support given to patients and families of Longfield Hospice across Gloucestershire.

Rachel Jones, head of fundraising at Longfield Community Hospice, said: "The Care Packages are beautiful and a great way to surprise someone special to you - whether it's for a Christmas gift or just because you feel someone deserves that extra bit of care. It's also super easy as we even take care of the wrapping and posting."

Rachel explained: "We often get approaches from kind people wanting to give something to our patients and families for them to enjoy over Christmas. The Care Packages are a great way to do just that.

"Our patients and carers love it when we surprise them with a treat, just knowing that someone is thinking of them on difficult days, really brings a lot of joy. We know the Care Packages will be really well received."

Longfield would like to get a minimum of 50 more Care Packages donated for patients and unpaid carers, so that they can be delivered the week before Christmas.
