Firm celebrates 30th anniversary with fundraising challenge

2022 is a big year for Gloucester-based communications provider RHM Telecom.

The team are celebrating their 30th year in business and wanted to do something special to mark the occasion.

RHM have been involved in charity events in Gloucestershire since their foundation in 1992. One of the causes they have supported for many years is the Pied Piper Appeal.

The Pied Piper Appeal is also celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2022. Part of their celebrations involved hosting a fundraising appeal, where local businesses could take on a challenge in order to raise money for the charity. The RHM team have been more than happy to get involved.

RHM are looking to raise a minimum of £3,500 by October 31. The bulk of the fundraising will be carried out by a mission to walk/run 900 miles as a team. This is 30 miles for each of the 30 years of operation for both Pied Piper and RHM. The team will be running and walking individually to help reach this goal, and will host a sponsored 11-mile walk on June 15.

The team has already made a brilliant start with managing director Nick Thomas as well as other RHM staff already clocking up 100 miles. More fundraising events will be announced in the coming weeks.

Why Pied Piper? The Pied Piper Appeal do fantastic work in Gloucestershire. They make a meaningful difference supporting sick and disabled children across the county. They do this by funding local hospital care, specialist schools and mental health facilities. One of the best services they offer is to send children with life-limiting illnesses and their families on holidays where they can make lasting memories.

Alongside RHM, more than 30 other fantastic local businesses are also taking part in fundraising for Pied Piper. This includes Cheltenham College and Punchline Gloucester, as well as local branches of John Lewis, The Ivy and Starbucks.

RHM managing director Nick Thomas said: "RHM have a long-standing link to the Pied Piper Appeal children's charity. RHM's co-owner Roger Head OBE is also the chair of trustees for Pied Piper.

"RHM provide subsidised telecom service for the charity's two shops and office. We also share the fact we both started life back in 1992 and are therefore entering our 30th anniversary.

"So, when the charity announced they were looking to sign up 30 local companies to commit to raise a minimum of £3,500 during 2022 it was a no-brainer."

RHM have set up a JustGiving Page to track the progress towards their £3,500 goal. If you'd like to support the RHM team, consider donating by using the link below.
