Evening road closures are announced

Resurfacing work on a popular route into Stroud is set to get under way.

Gloucestershire County Council has announced today that work will take place on Westward Road, Stroud, from Chapel Lane to Frome Gardens, on 24 April to 5 May between 7pm and 12am

The road will be open during the day as normal.

Work to lay the new surface will be carried out on weekdays only, between 7pm to 12am, to minimise disruption for road users and nearby residents.

Mark Darlow-Joy, highways contract manager at Gloucestershire County Council, said: "Westward Road is a well-used route for numerous local businesses, schools, residents and commuters in and around Stroud, so this resurfacing is important.

"We've planned this work during evenings to make life as easy as possible for residents. I'd like to thank road users in advance for their patience during this scheme."
