Ecclesiastical puts safety online at heart of education

Ecclesiastical has launched an online portal to help schools and education establishments manage strategic and operational risks as they return after the summer holiday and lockdown.

Research by the Gloucester-based specialist insurer found 63 per cent of teachers believe the volume of risks facing schools has increased in the past five years.

And the vast majority (79 per cent) agree that risk management is key to creating a safe environment at school.

The coronavirus pandemic means there has never been more of a focus on maintaining a safe and secure environment within organisations.

The online hub, which is available to Ecclesiastical customers, provides insight, information, tools, checklists and a dedicated risk advice line on topics such as health and safety, building services, security, environment and cyber security.

Education director Faith Kitchen said: "We recognise that it's an incredibly challenging time for the sector. As a specialist insurer we believe that we can provide real insight and knowledge of the sectors in which we operate.

"We know from our own research that teachers believe risk management is key to creating a safe environment in schools.

"Ecclesiastical's dedicated team of risk experts have developed The Hub for Education to help schools and other education establishments manage both strategic and operational risks as they continue to adapt to providing education in an ever-changing world."
