Drone footage of Tewkesbury flooding

Drone footage shows Tewkesbury Abbey surrounded by floodwater with the Severn Ham, Victoria Gardens and other areas almost completely submerged.

A red flood warning is in place for that stretch of the River Severn after heaving rain caused river levels to rise this week.

The Met Office has forecast more rain for Gloucestershire throughout Wednesday ( Jan 11) and severe weather warnings for rain covering much of Wales and South West England - from 9pm on Wednesday to 5pm on Thursday - have also been issued.

Local people have been urged to take action to protect themselves and their property from flooding and to avoid any contact with flood water.
