Top honours for well-established family business

A Gloucestershire company is celebrating a double success at the West Midlands Energy Efficiency Awards.

Family business Hewer FM, established in 1965 and now based at new offices at Waterwells Business Park in Quedgeley, scooped the Regional Boiler and Heating Installer award at the event in Coventry.

It was also highly commended for its work with Bomford housing association in installing Green Star Worcester Bosch boilers.

In addition, it nominated Bromford for regional Housing Association of the Year, which it won.

The National Energy Efficiency Awards were launched in July 2015 following changes to Government energy efficiency policy.

Previously known as the Green Deal and ECO Awards, they were set up in 2014 to help motivate the energy efficiency sector in their delivery of the Green Deal Finance Initiative and Energy Company Obligation Scheme.

The aim of the Energy Efficiency and Healthy Homes Awards is to provide public recognition for the excellent work the energy efficiency sector is doing in implementing these, and other, energy efficiency schemes.

In addition to its achievements at West Midlands Energy Efficiency Awards, Hewer FM was a finalist in the Greater London regional awards for its work at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.
