Do you hate your boss? Or do you really like them?

A new survey has revealed what UK employees think about their boss.

According to HSBC's 'UK: Anatomy of the Consumer'  report, just over 12 per cent of workers either hate (4.5 per cent) or dislike (7.7 per cent) their boss.

In contrast, the survey found that 16.8 per cent of the 2,000 respondents 'really like' their boss and 32.3 per cent 'like' them, with the remainder neutral.

Other findings by the report, which covered a wide range of topics, included:

  • 48 per cent of house owners expect house prices to rise this year
  • 49.3 per cent of people are concerned about rising living costs
  • 49.2 per cent of people drink one cup of coffee a day
  • 61.7 per cent of the population shop at Tesco on a regular basis
  • Stella Artois (12.1 per cent) is the UK's most popular beer brand and vodka (18.5 per cent) the most popular spirit
  • Costa (28.4 per cent) is the most-visited coffee shop

HSBC said the overall findings of the report suggested that UK consumers were carrying on as normal following the vote to leave the EU.

"Consumption has been critical to the UK's resilience following the vote to leave the EU, with the average household having remained largely unfazed by the prospect of political change," it said.

"Indeed, private consumption remains by far the largest driver of growth in the UK. As we move through 2017, its continued resilience will be crucial for the economy more broadly."
