A Gloucestershire mortgage and insurance specialist has collected a customer service award ahead of celebrating its 15th birthday this month.

Founded in a spare bedroom by Ellen Roome in 2006, The Finance Roome employs 13 staff at its base at Gloucestershire Airport.

And it reaches the landmark on the back of winning the mortgage adviser category at the ESTAS customer service awards, based on a customer review platform which also honours for estate agents and property lawyers.

Ellen Roome said: "We believe communication is key to great customer service.

"When you deal with a bank, you're often just a number. Every one of our clients has their own personal adviser who knows their situation inside out.

"How can you offer financial advice without understanding what your client really needs?"
