County firm helps feed Commonwealth Games athletes

A county firm is helping to provide thousands of meals for hungry athletes at the Commonwealth Games.

Bishop's Cleeve based PKL has supplied the mobile kitchens for the event which kicked off today on Australia's Gold Coast.

PKL is a leading supplier of mobile kitchens and modular catering facilities for a variety of events worldwide. The facilities it is providing at the Commonwealth Games will provide up to 25,000 meals a day.

More than 4,500 athletes from 71 nations and territories will compete for 275 gold medals at the Commonwealth Games.

More than 2.4 billion people - nearly a third of the world - will be represented over 12 days in Australia.
